Sustainability of our food is fundamental to the future of our planet. We were tasked with finding unsustainable products in the Circo Massimo Market. While most of the food was locally sourced from farms and therefore farely sustainable, some key differences made some products preferable. Packaging is one of these aspects and both meat and vegetables could be found in plastic packaging. Finally the ice cream found in the market was made with vanilla so non local.

While roaming the Farmer's market we were tasked with finding 3 sustainable foods. I can say with confidence that it would be hard to find a better place to do so. The market was filled with locally sourced food from Lazio and was full of great products and buying products there could be considered inherently sustainable. Nonetheless, the pulses and mushrooms from Lazio were sold which are great products with low impact. Bread made with ancient grains was also a highlight
